Southbrook, Queensland
Southbrook is a town north-east of Pittsworth, in the Darling Downs region of Queensland, Australia. At the 2011 Australian Census Southbrook recorded a population of 523. The Gore Highway passes through the north of the town.
== History ==
Previously under a pastoral run, the area was further developed in the 1880s when it was used for dairying and cropping.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.queenslandplaces.com.au/southbrook )〕 Southbrook later became a stop on the Millmerran railway line.
During early settlement the town had a store, two cheese factories, a hotel, and a school.〔 The school was originally named Elville after the site it was built on, but was later changed to Southbrook Central, which it is still known as today;〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=https://soutcentss.eq.edu.au/Ourschool/History/Pages/History.aspx )〕 in 2010 the school celebrated its centenary.〔(【引用サイトリンク】work=Toowoomba Chronicle )〕
